Looking at the natural calamities happening these days....we have to say that we are lucky

Who are "we"?

We who are sitting in comfort and have a decent roof on our heads.

So what have we done with our luck today ?

Lesbians and Lesbians

Some islanders of Lesbos are
saying that they are disgraced being called lesbians. What illogical thing !!

I would be proud to be called a lesbian if i were a Lesbos islander....you know why ?

1) Lesbians are women and being a woman is much less easy than men in most of the world.
2) Lesbians are homosexuals and it is way less easy to be one in most of human society (other animals have no problem with such issues it seems and we are "intelligent" you say !)

Lesbians thus have to show incredible amount of courage and character to be what they are....hence people being called a lesbian means that you have incredible courage and character.

We humans are so stupid...that no doubt we are going to destrou us and a lot of things on the way...but there is hope that life may recover after us.
Hopefully we will allow it to happen ...

Why religion cannot be logical ?

1) Why would God/god give power to some to lead others ? (and only some)
2) Why do we need to believe the "entrusted" people ?
3) Why make humans so cruel....any time you wish to give a proper answer i'll be listening
4) Ahem....why should religion be so similar to politics ?
5) Why so many religions ?
6) Why so many sub-religions or sects ? Who passed the message to divert from the main message ?
7) Why not 9 billions religions
8) Why pray ?
9) What is wrong with not praying ?
10) What happens to dead religions' God(s)...The Roman gods and the Egyptian ones to the Babylonic ones ?
11) Last but not least ...... WHY ?

The price of "free"

When you are told take this new cell phone to replace your still working one...and you say why not its cheap or free... Remember the price of this choice.

Beyond green issues...remember that the coltan(columbite-tantalite) that is used in the cell phone most probably comes from the East part of the Democratic Republic of Congo and it is the labor of kids taken in by warlords that is used to mine this. You are financing a warlords that are killing kids in mines and battlefields there.


Remember you have a choice to keep using a still working phone or you can get a fancy new phone...you have a choice whenever you get "free' options and gifts....

Yes you have a choice that may be condemning somebody somewhere else.

Opensource : - what is hard to get ?

The opensource movement started in software and has been reasonably successful as a working model.
We tend to have many reactions against it with arguments like it keeps its proponent in poverty, it is anti business etc etc....

What the misunderstanding or fear of understanding lie in the fact that ideas and knowledge is defined as property.

Lets take a totally similar but different case : "the air we breathe"

Now should the air we breathe be free ?

Yes...
Now you may build a business on telling people that they should travel to the Andes to get better air (what ever better air means)...but you cannot blackmail people not to grow plants because its killing your business of providing good air to your customers.

Sure there is no money in the knowledge that growing trees provide oxygen....you may write a book about which plants to grow where and in what period...but you cannot block somebody from growing litchee trees because you claim you own the right on how to grow litchee trees



The open source licenses make sure that you can give litchee seeds to your friends or you can sell the seeds for a fee but you cannot stop the buyers from giving the seeds for free to their friends.

If it was not so someday breathing air will be limited to those who are able to pay.

Think about it.

People can make money on ideas or software or teaching but you cannot stop those who want to share air, knowledge, trees, ideas for free ....otherwise we are blocking something fundamental....the right to live

Lies we trust and wish for

Recently saw "Festival of lies" by the Studio Kabako group. Very well designed and intelligent "mise en scene".


Its interesting
how we individual people trust and believe what we are told by politician, priests or even teachers etc etc....


"Trust me" ...when you are told that at the begining of a sentence...

What make people think they are right.....a trust in some absolute faith ?

There is scientific right...which state that if you can predict something that can be proven ..then its right till it does not explain something....

Then there is "right because it is so" well one cannot argue against that because trying to argue implies that the opposite is open to discussion and reasoning....
