Intelligent patenting system

We have a problem with the medical and agriculture development.

There is an argument that goes---

1) You need money for research
2) Those who invest need return on their investment
3) new products from (1) and (2) have to be protected from piracy so that (1) and (2) can occur.

What's wrong with this picture ...We are dealing with human beings life and not new cars or robots.

Is this the only model we can have to get new medicine to be found ?

We can have governments driven research...But this tend to get mired into red tape sooner or later...And time critical research cannot afford that.

Charity does not seem good enough and it does not seem sustainable.

One can think of something like Opensource ...This works for software and is very healthy....
But software does not need much hardware investment...But brain power.

The way we can do that is to be able to have a hardware share mechanism just like the way we have in the GNU licensing system ...You get my contribution for free but you have to allow others to
use my contribution with the same license I gave you.

We should be able to do something like this for hardware and patents for stuff that are life maintaining and saving....

The big flaw is that people believe they made a discovery out of a vacuum...And charge for a patent thusly....
